WMP is SLOW
« on: October 26, 2007, 04:35:26 AM »
Hi All,

I have Windows XP SP2 running on my computer. How can I tell Windows XP to load the "Classic" version of Windows Media Player without uninstalling the "new" version of WMP? Thank you.

      Please ignore tommy gusack.
Service Pack 2 for XP contains many important security fixes and general improvements for the OS and is needed in order to receive the latest fixes for XP.

What do you mean by the "classic" version of WMP dairyman? Version 10?

You would need to change XP to classic view.
To do this open Windows Explorer and select Tools/Folder Options. In there you will see the settings for Classic View.
      This will change everything.
      I prefer it though.

Nothing changed. It still opens with the new version of WMP.

If you have installed a newer version of WMP this has replaced the old version. So as far as I know there is no way to do what you want.

OK, I won't s**ew up my computer again by messing about with REGEDIT - my favorite Windows tweaking utility  ;D .

Funny, but everytime I write a new topic, the problem is fixed by itself. Interesting...

        Thank's guys.
