internet explorer won't open

i'm having a problem with my IE.
i'm running windows XP. i came home from a business trip just to find out that there is a problem with my computer that i can't seem to fix.

when i click on my icon for IE, it seems as if the window is going to open and then it just opens for a fraction of a second and then it disappears.

i can't find a solution to this problem... will someone please please help me?

Perhaps try repairing IE (I believe in add/remove programs). If all else fall you could alwyas try Firefox (IE problems are annoying, and I hardly ever know how to fix them, so... here you go )

You could likely use any broser. Mozilla Firefox is a great, free, open-source browser with lots of nice featutres like tabbed browsing (I use and love it):
