Constant CTDs after installing new CPU
    « on: April 09, 2011, 06:42:49 AM »
    Hello there!

I hope someone can help me with this. I replaced my AMD Phenom II X2 with an Phenom II X4 965 BE a few days ago and I am noticing a considerable performance boost, however I am plagued with very frequent CTDs ever since doing so. I thought it might be a cooling issue, but even though I do run a hot 70C at most during games like Rift, I'll get a CTD merely opening Call of Duty Black Ops, or shortly thereafter during gameplay or selecting a server while Core Temp is displaying a temp of 37C. I've also had problems with Rift and Dragon Age 2 since installing the new CPU. I have updated all my drivers and used MSI Live Update for my BIOS. I don't get any info from the error message other than the program has stopped working and windows will notify me if there's a solution (yeah right).

I have attached a txt document spit out by CPU-ID that should have everything you need to know about my computer setup and more.

Well, I removed 2 gb RAM and installed a new heatsink. Still getting the same problems.
