reconnecting to internet after system restore
« on: December 30, 2004, 04:38:36 PM »
I have a Dell Laptop which I got about a year ago. Recently it underwent a complete system restore and a total wipe out of all the previously saved, downloaded and installed files. It's back in business now, but I don't know how to reconnect to the internet. At my house, we have a linksystems wireless router and that's how I connect to the internet on my laptop. I've tired going to Dell's website but it's hard to navigate, and their customer service line is always busy. Could someone please walk me through getting back online?
Thanks!
-Van

it wont register that the cd is in the tray and it wont reinstall. Its not the cd drive, cause that seems to work fine.

Well, that's pretty strange... It sounds like your problem is in the CD drive.... Are you SURE that the drive works properly? Will it install other software? Is your router install CD burned (copied)?
