I teach at a high school in Southeast Asia, been here for 11 years. I also own a little computer shop since the school only requires my services for about half the day, 4 days a week. I love teaching here, the kids are fantastic.

However, within a year, my teaching career will end and I will sell my computer shop. I'm returning to the USA and will open a computer shop there.

WOW - How did you end up there? That is terrific. Are you retiring?

You also own a computer shop there? Well that is just about cool! :-)

Retiring from teaching, but not retiring from work... I'm not THAT old! hehe

Long story how I ended up here. Basically came over here for another job (music industry) 11 years ago. Was supposed to be here 6 months then go back... it's been 11 years and I'm still here. Things have changed now and I actually have to go back as I have some business to take care of back home in America, so I've decided to go back and stay.

      Well, WELCOME BACK!

I was in the military and lived in many places all over the world. I loved every country I lived in. If you stay long enough, you find that all the regular folks around the world want what everyone else wants. Most people do not wish for millions of dollars, they wish for clean Food & water for their family, a nice warm home, security, happiness, education, and world peace.

Every Mom worries that their children will get hurt, and their daughters will marry some guy we don't like, and their sons will not be able to find work / or provide for their family.

Every Dad wants a good job to give their families what they need.

No matter how the world prorgesses, these are the common simple things the whole world, including us, worry about.

*** Just for anyone else reading, yes I know there are exceptions ***

In any case, I loved traveling and meeting all kinds of people. I have friends all over the world. I guess I am a person who really does get along with just about anyone.

PS: Music industry in SE Asia 11 years ago? You don't hear that too often. You normally hear that about Nashville or CA, not SE Asia! LOL   :o

That must be a really GOOD story!!!

How did I miss this post?   :o

Well, I have a few more gray hairs, my knee hurts once in a while from a military accident many years ago, ...

BUT, yes teenager at heart! I still run when I can, I play in the snow, I play with my son, and I boggie with my daughter in the kitchen. AND I do eat my dessert first!

And once in a great while, when I am running, and the wind is just right, and the sun is shining enoug to give just a good warming, I can still feel that moment of freedom I used to feel when I was only 16. :-)

And yes, I do like an occasional video game. :-) Now my next goals is to build a computer with my son, and learn all the new dance moves with my daughter.

What do you mean? All single guys are gone, or what?...LOL

Well MOST single, nice, good guys are gone.

It seems like - and I may be wrong, that many of the ones who are single are stuck on themselves and would not help anyone.

Actually, it is a stereotype that I guess I should not make. I am NOT into the people who hang out at the gym all the time and grunt in front of a mirror. I like to stay healthy , but the whole I am "into" myself - well no. And alot of single men are "into" themselves and are not very nice. Go to any club and you will see what I am talking about.

Many guys have a "Tom Cruise" attitude and would not know how to have a normal conversation if they tried.

Just joking around with people, I normally make up some one liner about Homer and Troy see what they say. Either they get it, or they don't.

In any case, you seem nice, and you and others on here are willing to offer your knowledge of something that you could easily get paid hundreds for. So, that says something right there. And I have read many post here - most people - including you are very patient with Newbies. So that again, says alot.

I have seen websites that blast people who are brand new.

And I guess technically we are so far away from talking about computers, we will probably get a warning soon!    ;D ;D
