I am attempting to play Age Of Mythology.
A while ago I accidentally deleted all sound and video drivers from my computer while attempting to reformat. Have now reformatted successfully, and eventually figured out how to get sound again.
Tried to play AOM and it didn't work due to the video driver.
I used the Device manager and reinstalled the video driver, attempted to load AOM again and it got through the opening credits, loaded enough that i could choose my game, but then when actually loading shut down and came up with an error message saying it was due to an error and that when the computer retarted it would do the error report. Error report came back and said it was a problem with the video driver and directed me to
http://www.sis.com/download/msoca/ to download the update.
At this point, I don't know what to choose. I've downloaded the 630/730 series, but when attempting to install it says 'please confirm that your device is installed properly. and you are advised to reboot your computer before installing the VGA driver'. I then downloaded the 300/305 series, same error msg came up. I downloaded the AGP driver and installed with no issue but now i'm stuck.
I've found one website that did a scan and offered a dowload of the missing update, then asked for my credit card details - I'd prefer to get a free download if possible, if not please let me know and I'll go buy it.
I used to be able to play this game without an issue - I don't know what I've done to the computer, if someone could help me that would be awesome.
