      Lots more information is required.
What file extension do the movie you want to burn have? (Avi, mpeg, vob, etc)
What is the size of the file?
What program are you using to burn it?
What is the size of the DVD you want to burn the movie to? (4,7 or 8.5)
Should the resulting DVD be able to play on a standalone DVD player?

          That's a huge AVI file.
Could you please right click the file, select properties and then post the number written next to "Size:".
What version of Nero is it?

I am using Nero 7  and the size of the movie is 697MB  or 731,594,752 bytes.

What option in Nero are you choosing when you got to burn the movie?

Hmm then Nero should automatically adjust the video quality so it fits on a disc.
When your on the screen where you add files to the disc.
                  Click the More button
                  Click Video Options
                  Click the DVD-Video tab
Make sure Quality setting is set to Automatic (fit to disc).

This should make sure the file always fits on a disc.

Another option would be a new dual-layer DVD burner from newegg.com for about 40 bucks U.S. if you're in the States...
This will increase the storage capacity to roughly 8.4 G

I want to thank you all for our assistance.  I have decided to try AVI splitter and see if that works.  Once again I thank you ;D

If you are ok with having your movie cut into two pieces and burned to two disks, AVI splitter will do ok.

If you want entire video on 1 disk, maybe get dual layer dvd (DVD DL) with the 8.4gb of space.

or if you are ok with converting file to a smaller file that is compressed and quality of video is acceptable to you, then just use mediaconvert to convert AVI to other format being sure that u reduce quality a bit to save some space.
