in case anyone was wondering what could fix this sort of problem (regardless of OS type etc.)
First, reset IE or Firefox to default settings, make sure javascript is enabled, update/download the latest Flash and Java from their respective sites, upgrade to SP2 (if you have xp), and get windows updates. One of the aforementioned if not all may be the remedy to your online video probs!
