directx please i need help

i'm tryin to use rm converter. but it says i'd have to install directx 8.1 or higher. i just installed 8.1.. but when i open the program.. it gives out the same message.."i need to install directx 8.1 or higher.. blah blah blah".. why is this so??  ???  :-[  :-/ :'(

might need to reinstall the  RM  Converter to get it to recognize the DirectX.  Also DirectX have 9.0 now.
