I am told that using a CD-ReWritalbe disc is just like using a floppy disc, that you can add, edit things on the CDRW, but when I copy something to a CDRW and try to go back into it and edit it I get a message that it is a READ ONLY  and can not make and save changes. I would like to know what I am doing wrong.

You’ve run into the problem with Windows XP’s built-in CD-writing wizard. XP can write files to CD-RW, but it cannot delete, change or overwrite them without wiping the entire disc first. What you’re looking for is a third-party CD/DVD burning tool that offers packet-writing capabilities. Packet writing enables a rewritable CD or DVD to be used in the way you want – in other words as a gigantic floppy disk.

If you want to use it in the way you describe you will need what's known as an UDF writing program.
InCD is one of these and there are others...

Be forewarned however that they tend to cause havoc with all burning programs and OS's as well...
You may want to reconsider your burning strategies after struggling through one of these programs and decide if it's worth it or not.
