whats happened to my outlook express?

hello,.

yesterday i tried to open up my outlook express but this came up randomly: and is still doing it now :-

after clicking okay this comes up :-

Welcome to the CH forums.

Bit puzzling, you ask about Outlook Express but the images are from Outlook 2003 - different beasts.  Are you trying to open Outlook Express but Outlook 2003 is opening or are you trying to open Outlook 2003?

Perhaps the cat knows something! LOL

Are you referring to a computer at home or at work?  Is your Outlook supposed to be setup to work with an Exchange server?

its at home, but sorry.. i have no idea what an exchange server is, can someone please help me?

Well, didn't you notice the reference to Microsoft Exchange Server on all the screen prints you posted?  Who installed Outlook on your computer?  How long have you used Outlook for email?  Is a new issue that has arisen, after successfully using Outlook for email for a long time?

erm, i orginally installed it and it only happened yesterday.

but i dont actually know what a microsoft exchange server is...

Outlook is often used with Exchange Server in a corporate environment to enable office workers to share Outlook folders (calendars, contacts, etc.) with others.  I suspect you responded incorrectly to certain prompts regarding options for installing Outlook, during the installation.  So, I suggest you uninstall and then reinstall, paying close attention to any prompts for your input during the installation, and be sure not to select any option to use Exchange.

but there may be a slight problem there.. as i no longer have the CD.. we lost it a long time ago. how do i go about re-installing it after i un-install it?

So, you installed it a long time ago but this problem just started?  And, you've been using it all along for email, right? 

If so, you must have changed something to cause this change in Outlook's behavior.  What change(s) did you make?

thats correct.

erm.. well.. i deleted some old files from the harddrive but they were only game folders like neverwinter nights etc..

so that couldnt have caused it..

it just doesnt make sense to me... because it was working fine a few days ago and one morning i just come on the computer - try to open outlook and that happens..

.. what should i do ? :|

you dont need to reinstall you just need to set up your internet settings correctly.  For some reason things just got mucked up.  This video is on outlook express but you should get the idea what you need.
