    Blocking websites from AOL
    « on: March 25, 2008, 11:21:49 PM »
Okay, so I learned how to do the oh-so-neat Hosts file blocking technique, but this has no effect on the AOL browser. Has anyone discovered a way to block certain sites from viewing when using AOL? It's driving me crazy trying to find a way to do it  ???

I read somewhere that whatever you do to IE it happens to AOL because AOL using IE as a browser, but I've found this to just not be true. I can block sites using Ad Watch by telling it they are pop ups, but AOL still lets them through. Arghh!

In its normal configuration AOL uses its own version of TCP/IP so the hosts file may not be consulted by the AOL browser.

You may have to contact AOLto see how this is done...
