Nvidia GeForce 5750 video card, having problems help.

I can do everything normally on my pc, everything works fine, movies all that jaz. But when I go to play a game, I mean even and old game it works good for a little bit and then all these long triangles pop up on the screen and I get flickering and well it just goes buggy. I tried installing the new driver from nvidia, still having the problem. The only thing I have done is install a newer version of java, but I don't think that is the problem. Can anyone help me out with this.
I have a p4 2.8 GHZ ht
915 chipset mother board.

The same configuration I have had forever, so I'm sure it's not that the hardware isn't working together. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

What games are you tryign to play, and does the socket that ur putting this Nividia card in, is that card compatiable with the MOBO socket??

all kinds of games, icewind dale, all the way up to the witcher. Old and new with the same problem. The video card is PCI express, and it's been in the same slot for 3 years.

yes, I hope its not fried, I don't have another card to test with. So was wondering if anyone knew something that would cause this other that my card is dunzo. I just don't wann buy a new card and have the same problem.

WEll my friend i dunno how serious of a gamer u are but a 5700 doesnt do much good anymore, I myself have a 5500 on this computer right now (had bout 3 yrs running fine) but im building my own computer (haveing problems as we speak thats why im online) and i am upgrading to a 8500 i cant wait to see the difference but i know most games need a like 6600 GeForce, so u may just wanna invest it into a new card, you should but make sure b4 u open the box, that your MOBO will support it... there like i think 120 bucks on NEwegg i could be wrong but just look em up

In the absence of new software or hardware additions, and no history of electrical activity, surges, etc., I would assume the card is bad. Does it have a fan on it? If so, is it turning?

good call, the fan isn't running, that has to be it, overheating, what do I do???

It was gued up for so long it burnt itself up. Good card bad fan. Could have been worse news. At least I know what it is now thanks a bunch. Have a good one.
