    Installing HD with XP
    « on: April 22, 2008, 08:39:35 AM »
I have a custom built machine w/ Vista on it. I want to put an HD in it to replace the drive with Vista, with one that has XP. Will this work? My machine has two drives, one 80Gb for the OS, and a 320GB for storage. Its a evga 680i MB, & 3 Mhz duo core processor, with 4 Gb of ram, and a nvida 8800 GT video card w/ 512M of ram.
What a long, strange trip its been...

Sure it will work. As long as you reinstall XP.

The operating system is married to the machine hardware. You can't swap drives around on  machines unless the drive was used to install XP on that machine.
