    Download Stops
    « on: April 26, 2008, 11:32:05 PM »
When I start to download it goes for 30 sec or so and stops.  My internet provider says it is my problem?  What could it be?

In order to try and help you, the following info  is needed + what are you trying to download: List as much about your computer as possible. This includes operating system (what version of Windows you are using), service packs, computer make/model, RAM, hard drive, sound and video cards, current adware/spyware/virus programs being used on a regular basis, do you have a "real" Windows CD, etc.

get a download manager like flashget and try the downloads again if you're trying to download some file. If you're trying to download something online like a streaming video then that's something else.

Flashget will save your file so that you don't have to start all the way from the beginning if the download stops or internet has problem or something like that!

What type of connection is it?
If broadband, no download manager is needed; another clutter to your system.

maybe too many other things are running at the same time. Close all other programs and  control+alt+delete to shut down just about everything.
download.com has internet download manager that you can try for free for a bit, it's easy to use.
Make sure you have room on your drive, the last 10% should be kept free all the time.
            good luck!  ;)
