Windows XP Home Edition

   8)  I am thinking of upgrading to XP HOME,do I have to do anything to my PC,before installing the CD. I am at the moment on Windows 98 SE.

Just besure to back up all of your files. Music, Puctures etc. then just put the disc in and follow the instructions.  Good Luck.

    Also make sure your hardware is compatible.Should have at least 256mb. ram and at least a 5gb harddrive.

    Also check the rest of your hardware for compatibility... I realize that it takes MUCH time, but it is ALWAYS a good idea to contact your computer manufacturer BEFORE installing any large software such as XP.... Just a thought...

      jjeany106...You say you are thinking about upgrading to win XP ......Do you mean using an upgrade cd or a full install cd ( there is a differance ) .....In either case , make sure your system is compatible ....( it should be ) and you have 256mg of ram..... Then the number one rule .......BACK-UP , back-up , back-up .........(just in case).

        ;D I am so glad that I found this Site, I have had so Much help in the last few days. :-*

       To dl65 it would be a full instalation cd,i know the hard drive is ok but where would I look to find out about the ram?  :-/
