Computer doesn't save installed printers after rebooting
    « on: May 08, 2008, 08:42:53 AM »
Hi, everytime I install my printer, it works fine until I shut down & start up again, in which case there are no printers installed - every time!

    Puter specs:

    Intel(R)
    Celeron(R) CPU 2.00GHz
    2.00GHz, 480MB of RAM

    Running: Windows XP SP2

The printer I keep installing is HP Photosmart 7550. I have installed the latest driver from here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ps-10034-2&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=72891&os=228&lang=en.

I have removed all printers & printer drivers before reinstalling, following the steps on this page: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm, to no avail.

I keep my computer clean - I regularly run Panda Antivirus; SuperAntiSpyware; AdAware; Malwarebyte's & CCleaner.

I'm hoping someone will understand the problem & know the fix because I am at a loss here & really need to print invoices & packing slips for my business.

Not sure if this is noteworthy but I don't know if this is a new problem or not as I've never had a printer installed before.

    Thanks in advance!
    ~Brenda

Not that I can think of. It's got the Panda Antivirus, a handful of anti-spy/adware programs and the rest are web design programs, i.e. the Macromedia suite, Photoshop, etc.
