    I have a Dell Dimension E310, Windows XP Home Edition SP2, 2 GB ram, Intel Pentium 4 processor, Internet Explorer 7.

    I cannot open attachments to email messages except for .jpg files.  Other files will not open.  This only started about a month ago.

      to bad you didnt post here a day or 2 after it happened.

      you could have simply system restored.

      This will put your computer back to exactly how it was before this started happening : (

        are you using webmail, or outlook, or some other client? if you are using a client, try going through web mail, it may be security settings in your client,

        And, do you really mean Outlook, or Outlook Express?
