w.r.t is an abbreviation, not an anagram, and it could stand for "with respect to " also.

I had to ask, and didn't think to search the 'net.  It was not intuitive to me, as some abbreviations are.

    Are there still any problems caused by SP3 or is it safe to install it now?   If it is installed, does it completely replace the operating system and necessitate me having to reinstall all the software on my computer or does it leave existing application software on the machine?

    There were a few problems with computers that had AMD processors. Otherwise, it was safe for you to install it the day it came out, and still is.

    No it does not. It just updates certain files in Windows.

    Yes that's right. Your software should all work just like it did before.

    #1 precaution before installing SP3 (applies to other SPs, as well) - computer MUST be clean, and free of troubles.
