What happens, when you connect straight (by cable) to the router, or better yet, to the modem?

    I haven't tried connecting it to the router. I'll try restarting the windows zero wireless serivce later, more help is appreciated!

    Try straight connection to the router, and if that doesn't work, straight to the modem.

      Well that works but as I mentioned before, the problem here is connecting to the wireless network, not a modem.

        There are some routers, that have modem built in, but others don't.
        What type is yours (cousin's)?

            I don't think you're understanding the problem, the probelm is when I connect to a wireless network, it says I'm connected with limited connectivity and that I don't have acess to the internet (Dependancy service or group failed to start). It has nothing to do with the modem or router since my dad and my uncle are both using a laptop and their wireless is working fine.

            I'm not saying, there is a problem with the router.
            I wanted you to hard wire your laptop to the router to eliminate router problem possibility.

            Go Start>Run, type in:
            cmd
            Click OK.

            At command prompt, type in:
            ping www.google.com
            Hit Enter.

            Copy results, and post them back here.

              "ping" command runs no matter, if you have internet, or not.

                Copy and paste also works whether you have internet or not....
                Sounds like you will be needing a new wireless PCMCIA card....or USB
