Assuming that your question is directed to me - I said:
@Joker08: Always a good question - always hard to answer! As @Kurtiskain mentioned, it mostly depends on how you use your computer. Unless you are a 'power' user of some sort, you probably would be better off with 'more' than 'better.' And ALWAYS better off with quality RAM from a quality manufacturer.
Be advised that if your OS is 32 bit, it will not use more than ≈3 - 3.5 GB of RAM if you go with 4 GB.
Also, for the 'normal' user, typically XP can perform very well with 1 - 2 GB and Vista needs all it can get - but, at least 2 GB.
Best of luck with your upgrade!
Without belaboring the point, more
and better is best. I assumed an implicit budget of $80-$90 from your original post; many DDR boards that 'support' 4 GB RAM really don't run well (if at all) with all 4 memory slots populated; I assume that you have some version of 32 bit Win XP thus limiting the amount of RAM that can be utilized to 3 - 3.5 GB; in my non-gaming experience, XP shows marginal improvement with RAM > 2 GB.
Given the above, if it were my decision, I would buy 2 x 1GB of the OCZ RAM because of the price - recognizing that this upgrade may not improve the performance of Age of Conan. Further, I would investigate whether or not the board supports Dual Channel memory - by many accounts, worth +/- 5% performance benefit. And a final caveat if the board does not support Dual Channel - I'm sure that the max memory per slot is 1 GB, i.e., don't buy a 2 GB module.
Let us know how you make out.
