I went to the thrift store and got a ps/2 keyboard and am now able to get into windows in safe mode. What do I do next?

Now, try to start in Normal Mode.

I got it. I did system restore and it seems to be working correctly again.

Thank you for all your help. It is so nice to know that I have help available through this forum rather than having to put all my faith in microsoft telephone support. Which is never a great option.
