Did you Boot from the disc?

A format will erase everything on your harddrive.

Why don't you post the problems that you've been having and see if the people here can help.

Everything i click on says not responding i cant install anything new on my computer the sound is not working.. internet explorer is not working. My computer isnt slow or anything dosent pop up with weird messages programs are just not working properly

@Zuratai: Sounds like you have a lot going on with your computer.

Also, try to boot to 'Safe Mode" and see if you have the same problems. (After the POST, as the computer is booting to Windows, repeatedly press the F8 key to get into Safe Mode.) Tell us how your computer performs in Safe Mode.
