Can i make a boot disk from my computer

I have an acer aspire 5920 with windows vista.
 I created boot disks when i first got the comp but my son got a hold of them and scratched them and i am afraid if i use them it will shut down half way through formatting.
 Is their anyway to make a new boot disk with out backing up all files i want to wipe my computer clean.

Do you mean set of Recovery DVDs?
If so, they can be created only once.
