Dylan......If you have an original win98 OEM disk and have the product key for it ......it will work just fine...as long as your doing a clean install.

Dylan.....Well , " what if the original disk is a windows 98 se and i ahve a windows 98 will it just install it to SE? "
If you have an original win 98 cw with product key it will work.
If you have a win98SE OEM original disk with product key , it will work .
      A win98 disk will not install as win98SE .....

Remember you must format your hard drive befoer installing the new operating system ( whichever one you choose )   You will require a win 98 boot disk .

Does this answer your question ?

Dylan......when you are installing the new operating system ....it will load and during the install process you will be asked for the product key ...........So you enter it and only then will the installation continue .
