DVD Security Question
« on: March 02, 2005, 09:15:29 AM »
I have an I/O Magic DVD Writer that I am returning to the Company for replacement. It worked well for 6 months and then just ceased to function. My question is, If I've burned sensitive data with the DVD burner in the past, can the DVD technician find this data when he opens the unit to troublshoot it ? I know this may seem to be a silly question to some of you but I ask because I know that when you burn to a disc, data is sent to the buffer memory. Is buffer memory a physical drive located in the DVD burner it self?

No.  It's the same as computer memory (RAM).
Remove power...memory "erased".
