    « on: July 23, 2008, 09:07:42 AM »
    hello sir,

After that it started giving problems. The problem is, it keep on hanging either at the time of booting or after logging in. I have formatted  and restored the system many times. but the problem remains as it is. I also consulted local computer reparer. He just painted some heat transferring material over the processor and increased the speed of cpu fan. This made my system work properly only for one month and after that the problem again raised.

I have purchased my desktop one year before. It worked properly for a period of 4 months.

Did you make any changes to the computer at 4 months? New hardware, new programs, update device drivers, etc?

The problem is, it keep on hanging either at the time of booting or after logging in.

Does the system get past the 'hang' and operate normally?

What are your system temperatures? Get Speedfan, if necessary: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php and post back with temps.

Try to remove and re-seat the RAM. Shutdown the computer normally, unplug from the electric supply, ground yourself and re-seat the RAM. If there are is more than one module, try to boot with just one module at a time. Check your motherboard manual to determine which motherboard memory slot must be populated.

      Remove and re-seat the CPU.

      Try a different power supply.

      Best of luck!

If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?

Can you boot to safe mode?

And also I noticed, your RAM was @448 MB  (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM). Is this the only piece? If not, try what drmsucks suggested. Running your system, one RAM at a time..

Good luck! and keep us posted! ;D

It worked properly for a period of 4 months.
It was time, then, to take advantage of warranty.

Let your computer run with its case open and a desk fan beside it... How many fans do you have on your computer?
