Anti-Virus
« on: August 06, 2008, 06:50:43 AM »
I'm sick and tired of AVG blocking every random program that it deems a virus so I need a new free replacement. Can anyone suggest a better free anti-virus program?

(AVG is blocking programs that are known worldwide to be trustworthy)

Can't you add an exeption?

As for other Free Antivirus Software, there is Avira and McAfee.

Yes, but then the program in question doesn't always work correctly, especially if internet access is involved.

Maybe something to do with the Firewall?

Games generally, on today's blocked programs menu we have Conquer Online (play.exe). Previously known applicants have been:

Quake
Final Fantasy VII
And I believe one of the Tomb Raiders.

As you can see I have had enough with AVG for a good reason. Can you recomend any good anti-spyware programs to go with Antivir?

(sorry I won't go near: Norton, Sophus, AVG & Mcaffee btw)

SuperAntiSpyware is pretty good for Anti-Spyware.

It does not offer real-time protection though (unless you pay for it)

    - Avira free antivirus: http://www.free-av.com/en/download/index.html
    - Avast! free antivirus: http://filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/

Forget AVG, and McAfee (Carbon, please :))
