change STACK settings in CONFIG.SYS
« on: March 03, 2005, 08:22:28 AM »
I got this message on a black screen when I start my Windows 98 machine:

“Internal stack flow caused session to be halted. Change the STACK setting in your CONFIG.SYS file, and then try again.”

The machine sounding like it was grinding rust.

Turning the PC off and on had no effect; the screen remained frozen. Ctl+ALT+Del had no effect. I unplugged the PC.

Turned it on. PC went into safe mode.

Restarted it, seems to be working fine in regular mode, except still sounds like it is grinding rust.

What is going on and how can I fix it? This grinding rust noise bothers me.
