Calc.exe is a browser

Open Windows Calculator, click Help Topics, right click the title bar of the help window, choose "jump to url", enter a url.

Handy if your system's browser is locked down or not functioning.

Oh my - yes it does work!  Amazing!!

It opened a site for me in the right hand (help info) window and then I could expand the window to suit.  Can't help but wonder or imagine tho that it must be employing the IE engine.

This will work with any program that uses the HTML Help application.  This includes the Calculator, Wordpad, Character Map, Sound Recorder, Minesweeper, and many other standard Microsoft programs that normally ship with Windows.

And yes, it will show up in your History, Cookies, etc. because it is essentially a stripped-down version of IE.

You have to type in the entire URL.  So, if you want to go to Google, you type in http://www.google.com

Does everybody else have Vista? And there's nothing wrong with my system... It's only about 6 months old.
I have done everything that everybody said to do, but still nothing. So I'm not the problem.

The people running that website have obviously never used Vista because that Help files does not exist. Vista doesn't even use that kind of help file.

It's .hlp files that are dumped from Vista, not .chm files.

There are issues with chm files in Vista, maybe you are experiencing those.

I don't know.... When I click help for some older programs, Help and Support opens and says "Why can't I get help from this program?".... Is this what you mean?
