Help Old Info. in Browser ever since cleared history
    « on: August 18, 2008, 08:00:50 AM »
I have Win XP was having problems with Yahoo and getting a white lingering page which would then finally load to Yahoo. Figured browser needed clearing, and did so. Now everytime I try to read news its OLD NEWS. Yahoo site says the wrong date but my CLOCK AND DATE are right. Daily News also is wrong in fact just about all info I am getting now is a day or two old. I tried hitting F5 but dont want to do that for every page I look at. Any suggestions????

I have Internet Explorer 7 which has always worked until a few days ago when I began getting a white screen which caused me to see if the browser history needed cleaning......i deleted the history and now CANNOT GET up to date info on the various sites. Any suggestions? I don't think I want to use another browser.

      Try resetting Internet Explorer:

      1.   Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
      2.   On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
      3.   In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
      4.   When Internet Explorer 7 finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK two times.
      5.   Close Internet Explorer 7. The changes take effect the next time that you open Internet Explorer 7.

      --------------------

Resetting Internet Explorer will reset the browser to default settings. Although the Reset Internet Explorer dialog claims that bookmarks/favorites should not be affected, everytime I tested, all favorited sites were deleted, so save all your favorite sites if they are important to you.

      Also, try Firefox as cross-reference.

Yes. If firefox is also having same problems given that you did not modify any settings from default yet, then your computer has other problems not related to your browser.

Seems to have done the trick reinstalling the IE browser and it did keep my faves although I mailed them to self just in case.
