    Internet explorer 6 problem
    « on: August 18, 2008, 02:14:39 PM »
Ok here goes. My father in law gave me a Hewlett Packard Pavilion a1000n desktop computer. The pc was originally set up to use a dial up connection. I have a broadband connection. When I try to access the internet via Internet Explorer by clicking on the icon the Internet Options dialog box pops up and I get no access to the internet. when I go to Control Panel and then to Netwok Connections it shows that my Local Area Connection and my 1394 Connection are both present and enabled. It also occasionally asks for a dial up username and password. How do I fix this?

    Open Internet Explorer.

Tools/Internet Options and then the Connections tab.

Select never dial a connection and save your settings.

    Refresh the web page.
