First, Create a System Restore Point.

To create a System Restore Point:
Go to Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore.
(or go to Run and type rstrui.exe and press Enter)
Select Create a Restore Point and click Next.
Name it Backup or whatever you wish.
It will then create the restore point.

Then I suggest try uninstalling yahoo messenger completely and then trying the most recent one (the Beta version - Version 9)

If for some reason you cannot create a System Restore Point, tell me before you try Yahoo Messenger 9.

I'm beginning to agree with you.

I suggest you look at this link and post the three requested log files in the Computer Virus and Spyware Section.

i also tried reformatt my pc an tried reinstalling it,but still wont open up.what should i do know plss help me..

If you reformatted and reinstalled Yahoo, and it's still not working, then either:

      a) You reinstalled it using the same downloaded file.  The file is corrupt.  Download a new copy.

      b) You're downloading the "Web installer" version (the itty bitty file).  When you install, it downloads the full version from the Internet.  Somehow that process is corrupting the download/install.  Download the full version, then install.

      c) The drive you saved Yahoo on is going bad/has corrupt data.  Save it to a different location (another hard drive, a flash drive, etc.) and try the install (then address the upcoming **** storm from a dying hard drive).

      d) You're using a firewall or an anti-spyware program that asks you to allow/deny registry changes (Spybot's Tea Timer, for example).  If so, you may have denied something critical to Yahoo working.  Easy way around that is to uninstall the offending program, install Yahoo, then reinstall the offending program.

      e) You have a bad stick of RAM.  Download Memtest 86 (Google for it), burn the resulting ISO to a CD, then restart your computer, booting from the CD.
