    Google chrome...
    « on: September 04, 2008, 04:09:05 PM »
Ive recently installed that new browser Chrome...but now i want to uninstall it.Problem is, the uninstall is unresponsive....and im reluctant to remove the files manually.

So how can i go about doing this *without* hurting myself.

Or could i just remove it manually?

    Welcome aboard :)
It looks like I wasn't the only one with this problem.
That's how beta versions are, sometimes.
Download fresh copy of Chrome's installer.
    Exit all programs.
    Reinstall over the top.
    Try to uninstall again.

Go ahead. If that doesn't work, I'll help you to remove it manually.

seemed to work... but i searched "google chrome" using the search feature in TU and it found 8 or so more reg keys that were not removed. Mostly in startup directories

You can use Regseeker: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm to get rid of those leftovers.

            Oh god regseeker

I used to use that, the first time i ran it it found something like 2k+ "bad" entries..scared the crap out of me. Also

            LAST time I ran it.

I killed my computer (I only unzipped the regseeker.exe and not everything else therefore making it unable to make backups :D) but ccleaner found some things... I will try that first.

Never use Regseeker for general cleaning. It's too aggresive. CCleaner will work fine for that purpose.
