ny1 with cd burning xperience plz help...

 need help with burning.... my laptop is a hp compaq 6710s windows xp...wenever i burn a cd of ny kind it will say burn successful nd then it wont work in nyway...it wont open it wont explore it wont autorun it wont even work wen i put it in my cdplayer or another computer... >:(
