    Belkin
    « on: October 05, 2008, 09:06:25 PM »
I just got a belkin router and hooked it up i started to play games and it will freeze and say networking problem for like a second then go away it will do this randomly... can anyone tell me why? i Did connection tester with speedconnect and it says i get 3000kb with a perfect connection and it says that 50 percent of my connection is 0 kb half of the time? I have 5 bars all the time. I read somewhere that a you should be connected to a belkin with a static ip or it will disconnect you for a couple of seconds randomly and reconnect??

What type of connection is it, link to a game, you're playing, and computer specs, please.

I assume, this is wireless connection, right?
      Laptop, or desktop?
How many other computers are connected to the router? Wired, or wireless?
      Any problems with other computers?

DHCP (depending on what it is distributed by) will disconnect and reassign an ip address (aka DHCP Lease Time). Set up a Static IP and you should not have this problem or increase the Lease Time. Good Luck!
