    how can i perform system recovery without the disks for windows xp

    Without more information, I can only say this.

    Inside Windows, there is a System Restore function that brings the computer back to an earlier date.

    Outside of Windows, some computer have a restore partition.

    Some may even allow you to perform a Factory Reset, erasing everything on the Hard Drive and starting over.

      i want to perform the full recovery but i don't have the disks how can i do it?

      Full Recovery - Completely erase everything and start over? (first-start conditions)

      May I ask why? If it's because of a computer problem, we may be able to help.

      Anyways, if you want to start from scratch, what model is the computer?

        it does have a problem at the beginning.
        i got it at a garage sale and has programs that i don't think i need.

        You will eventually need a Windows XP CD...sooner or later.
        Unless you want to run a Linux Distro...

              Your Dell should have recovery partition, which normally is accessible by pressing Ctrl+F11 at the startup.
