    Drive partitioning and formatting software
    « on: November 02, 2008, 10:26:06 AM »
Can anyone recommend a good program?

I have been using a bundled copy of PM 8 the disk of which appears to be giving up.

I am reluctant to buy PM8 as it has not been updated in so long and does not support VISTA so when I do have to upgrade it wouldn't work for me.

Currently running XP and the included paritioning software does't appear to let me get where I need to be anywhere near as easily as PM8 did.

I need to be able to partition and format large drives.  I currently have two 500GB in my main machine.

I need to be able to do this prior to installation of windows.

    Any recommendations?

If your using Windows XP SP2 or 3, you should be fine- what issues are you having?

I have an 300gb hd that I have just replaces and want to create only logical partitions.  Windows disk management does not appear to want to let me do that.  I only want to use this drive as an external back up device.

Darn it.  Already bought EASEUS Partition Manager and got the drive formatted just as easily as I always did with PM8.

        Thanks anyway.
