Our Compac with XP home says it can't startup because our windows root/ sys32hal.dll file is missing or corrupt.  Then it tells us to reinstall a copy of this file...How----what----where-----? ? ? ?HELP

Where and how so we get or use this bot ini.?  The unit won't give us anything except do we wish to start in safe mode, or last known configuration that worked.  Then we again get the missing hal.dll message
