    Scanner problem
    « on: November 30, 2008, 04:56:14 PM »
Am facing a problem with my HP ScanJet 3200C scanner.
When I preview the document placed on the scanner's bed, the entire area appears green (along-with the document); so does the final scanned image..

    Can this problem be fixed..?
    Could someone help pls...?

How old is the scanner?  Did this come on suddenly or gradually?

My initial thinking is that the reader (CCD I am assuming) has developed a fault.  Illumination seems even so the light probably OK.  Further to that is the scanner internal chipset - whether that has developed an abberation.

Can't right now see this as a driver problem but I guess as a long shot it just may be worth finding a driver update if available.

Overall tho I feel this may be an incurable problem.  It has a resemblance to a failure I had on a camera CCD.
Ain't technology great - until it goes wrong!

      Thanks.

I needed to know whether it was a major driver/software problem so I could just reinstall. But from what u say, I understand it to be a hardware issue. I'll have someone check it.

      Thanks a lot.
      God Bless.
