    Cant connect to internet

    Hi All,
    1st of all my system is MS Windows XP SP3, Intel Pentium 4, CPU 1.50GHz, 383MB RAM.

    Now my problem is this morning i tried to install norton 2008 on my system, near the end of the instalation it froze so i rebooted my pc and it ran the norton uninstall, ive deleted everything of the norton Antivirus, and now my pc wont connect to the internet or msn, when i run the Diagnose Connection Problem's on the internet explorer page i get Error 12029 in the log,
    Ive deleted everything that is to so with Norton (files,folders) and it still wont connect.....anyone any idea's as to what i can do next ?

      Try doing a system restore (start,all programs,accesories,system tools,sytem restore). take your computer back to before you tryied installing the new software. hope this works for you

        My System restore was turned off  >:( so cant do that .

              I cant download anything on my desktop pc as i cant connect to the internet with it, im replying here off my  laptop,

                come on...download it to your laptop, burn it to CD, move to your system and use it...

                and/or goto a system where you can download/burn it...

                    *censored*...these flash drives are so beyond me I keep forgetting that's what everyone is using now...LOL...anyway glad it's up and working...!!! ;D

                      you should invest in one they are well quicker than burning to cd's lol ...thank's for the answer to my problem as its been doing my head in all day  :'(

                        your right there....it's unfortunate that the average user is using Norton/Macfee and they both use so much of a systems resources that they are the problem, not the solution, slowing everything down...

                        alot of my customers use the Macfee suite because it's free from comcast in my area...and it's a DOG...
                        hogs system resources and slows everything down, even in the fastest systems...

                        it's hard going into a person's house where they are having issues with their system..Dell 2.8G processor/1Gmem and the thing just drags...remove Norton/Macfee..add avast, remove the OEM added software.. and the thing sings...sad what the OEM's are doing to the average user...but without it I'd be outa my home
                        computer repair business...LOL...but it still isn't right..there has to be a better way...!!!???
