Distorted sound from computer speakers
« on: December 02, 2008, 04:13:01 PM »
Hey,

I bought a computer with everything under the sun a few months ago, and within 2 months Vista started giving me problems.  Started a business and all of my financial information disappeared upon entering it into the computer.  So I switched out the Vista for XP paid the extra charges, and was happy as a lamb, that is until I logged into my favorite online radio station and noticed that everyone with a voice, sounded the same?  So weird distortion going on and unfortunately, fixing this problem is not one I am comfortable with becuase they wipped out everything I had before to install XP.  I really love the new system, but I miss my music more, smile.   When I listen to music by various artists, I don't want them all to sound the same.  I mean Janet Jackson, one and the same, not some guy trying to mimic her tune.

HELP!

Out of curiosity...have you tried another set of speakers?  What about headphones?  Also, are your audio drivers and codecs up-to-date?
