What is the Best A+ Book Out there?
    « on: January 13, 2009, 06:06:22 PM »
I didn't know what forum to put this in but here is goes. I want to really want learn about computers and one day take the A+ exam. I'd figure I'd start out with a book because I hate studying from websites or ebooks. Also, I know I can get a better deal if I buy the book online or at half.com so your advice is needed.

These books look really good. Are they for the latest A+
       exam?

I see that it does cover the latest exams even though they are three years old. Do I have to worry about A+ releasing and updated version of their exams anytime in the near future?

I'm not sure when the new test (that covers vista) will come out.

Two People voted for the same book so I guess I'm getting that one to start with. I got a Barnes and Nobel gift card for Christmas so I guess I'm getting it from them evn though they charge more.

I searched Comptia's website and didn't find any info about a new test, but I guess you have to learn the old stuff first anyways.

Once toyed with the idea of writing the A+. Had a change of mind as I
so often do. Check out www.proprofs.com...great site ..lots of exam questions.

Sybex Publication : A+ Complete Study Guide by Docter,Dulaney & Skandier
is a well written book . It's just a matter of personal taste on how the
instruction flows. There are lots of others. ..Peace. ;)

Update-I bought A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide, Sixth Edition (Hardcover) book. The book is huge, in part because of its large print. I think it is great and I'm finding that I know a lot more than I thought.
