Get DriveSpacio: http://www.drivespacio.f-sw.com/download.html, and compare its readings over couple of days.
You may find out, "who" is the thief.

I ran the scan... today. The first thing that I noticed that it said below: "45556ms 1 errors during scan process Info may be inaccurate"

The fascinating part is that Windows 5.40 GB Programs 1.95 GB Documents .85 GB Page file sys .79GB hyberfile sys .49 GB MSO Cache .45 GB other .04 GB- so that total is approx 10 GB. I am asserting that the error must be the over 6 GB of 'hidden error missing GB files'...? Basically it tells me that this program is not even picking up the files and the where or the why of the problem...? Am I right?

Would that explain the reason that I am not able to download the flash player or SP3 as well? Is something blocking it?

Well, you have to have at least two readings from consecutive days to see where the difference is.

I ran the scan again today- it would not complete sighting an error: "148948 ms 45556ms 1 errors during scan process Info may be inaccurate"

In the pop up box showing the details it lists the following:
      Scanned folders:
      size 9.91 GB
      files: 15 files 55701 subfiles
Errors 1 (6.29 GB not scanned)

I can't get the pop up box to close-
The details listed are as follows: Systems volume information (access denied!) 0.00 GB
that is the file that will not scan- and I cannpt open it. When I look in the C drive in the search you cannot even see it. (like it is hidden)

Files: Windows; size 5.39 GB Today /Yesterday 5.40 GB
Program files: 1.95 GB Today /Yesterday 1.95 GB
Documants and settings : 0.85 GB Today Yesterday 0.85
Page file sys  0.74 GB Today Yesterday 0.79 GB
hyberfile sys  0.45 GB MSO Today/Yestaerday 0.49 GB
      Cache  0.45 GB Today /Yesterday 0.45 GB
      other 0.02 GB Today /Yesterday 0.04

I see no difference. Is the drive space still shrinking?

My main issue now is not that my drive is still shrinking- but that I have 6.29 GB of space being taken up by something that I am denied access to seeing... and that I cannot download Flash player or SP3. The scan would not complete and reported an error not allowing me to see all of the details. I guess my question is what should I be concerned about now...? and what if anything can I do about it? If I can't download SP3 I am going to continue get multiple errors per day, and not having flash player is driving me CrAzY!
