    considering advertising
    « on: February 06, 2009, 10:02:07 PM »

SooOOo.. I've been fortunate enough to secure some web contracts over the last 3 years.  They are a couple of sites who sit well in Google.  I'm considering advertising space on the home pages, but I don't even know where to begin.

I'm pretty sure I'll become lost in the sea of pyramid schemes and profiteers if just search the web.  Has anyone here ever done it- I mean made any money by adding a company's banner / link to your site?  If so are there any reliable online resources for this?

thanks Geek, but I'm not looking for ad space, I have popular website contracts, and I am looking for
people who will pay to advertise on my space.  To be clear, I'm not trolling Computer Hope for sponsors.  Has anyone else here gone hunting for advertisers before?

Google Ads in one. If you have a lot of visitors, then this can be a very simple and easy way to make money.

Also, email some of the sites you frequently visit and ask them would they be interested in advertising on your site. Give them a summary of your site's stats, like monthly visitors etc.

      Have you looked at www.sedo.com

I would NOT recommend them. but I gives you an idea of how much advertising is going on and how that company does it. Many others follow their model, but that may be the model you do NOT want.
