Help with internet windows pop-up

So when I go to websites like facebook, myspace, google, everything is going good. Then when I click out of the window to get rid of the window it goes away. Then like 2 seconds later, the window of that site pops up, and then another window pops up of the same site, and this keeps repeating so in like 20 seconds i have like 10 new windows. I think this is some sort of "virus." Anyone have any idea on how to fix this problem.
