    Sudden Lost of Connectivity
    « on: February 22, 2009, 01:55:28 AM »
Computers in my house is connected to the internet via a broadband ADSL model with a 8-port switch.

Sometimes my computer cannot connect to the internet (could not browse any website) all of a sudden. It has no sign or any syndrome according to my observation. While my computer is in trouble, the others computers in my house may or may not be able to connect (browse) at the same time. So this is weird.

The workaround is to turn off the modem and on again. This works everytime.

What could be the problem here?

    Thanks.

The modem is quite new i.e. less than one year old, and unfortunately I don't have a spare modem to test...

Your ISP should replace the modem for free, if there is any problem with it.
