Beeping Sound Card

When I plug my pc speakers into the audio out jack I get a constant beeping noise, has anyone had this problem and if so do you know the solution?

Which sound card do you have? Also, which operating system are you using?

What kind of speakers do you have? and are you shure they work? and are you shure you are pluging it into the headphone jack. and not the Mic, or sound in, port?

more info on system used??type dxdiag in the run box and test for sound....
