how about that technology that james bond's car has in Die another Day? The adaptive camouflage, where tiny cameras on all sides reflect what people see in the background off the car's outer material casing so the car is good as invisible?

Yeah, fiction, works every time!!
11 cheers for binary !

Very intriguing method.....and I bet we could find many applications for a Harry Potter style cloak. :P

With a cloaking device, the world will change forever, for the worst

you'd think so, but really it would stay the same.

Police would likely employ it for both their patrol cars and instead of being undercover they simply use the tech; also most common thieves wouldn't be able to afford it anyways.

I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

20-30 years, you'd get it at your local space k-mart or wal-mart.

U.S. military will be good as invincible. We already have stealth F22 raptors and what if enemies can't see the plane or who's piloting it?

I''d like to have an invisibility cloak at times when matters need it  :D
