Hi guys my problem started a few weeks ago when my broadband speed dropped from 8Mpb to 1.5, after talking with my ISP (Optus) they asked me to send a log via netstat. I seem to have a company called akamaitechnolgies using my PC as a proxy server (i think).
After looking into it further one web page said that a Trojan had infultrated my PC.
From here I tried everything to find & remove the Trojan and the tracking cookies that kept recurring, to no avail. So I backed up to my other hard drive and then removed it. I have now formated the PC with no partion, dropped the CMOS & reinstalled windows XP Pro server pack 2. I have changed my IP address and installed PC Cillin. But on connecting to the net I still have a hugh list of IP address connecting to the out side.
I have tried blocking them using the modem, AVG, Spybot, Ad AwareAE, Peergardian 2 (while running P2P and connecting to net hundreds of IP's go out, unable to block them) Spyblaster, XoftSpySE. (my speed is back to normal now, just worried about security of my system)
I have not installed any other programs only anti tools (above) until I can resolve this problem, including windows updates. The only thing I haven't done is the BIOS & I am currently running the latest for my system. I will attach a copy of the netstat log.
Any help would be greatful, thanks Col
I have performed all of the processes as you requested please find logs attached.
I am using PC cillin Security 2007
Program Ver 15.30.1151
Engine Ver 8.911.1001
Pattern Ver 8.883.00
Exp date 06/30/2009
When I run a full scan at first it did detect and removed some problems, also said that the vulnerabilities existed & to do up dates. I didn't take any action until you inform me what to do. Also I couldn't find the log to send you (PC cillin)
